3D Displacement Maps

Good news everyone, since 3D displacement maps gained big success, I was asked to make a standalone application, so anyone could use it within their webpages. After few hours of hard work, the 3 applications are finally out and you can see and download it from 3ddm.yoz.sk. Feel free to use it on your own webpages. If you do so, please notice the copyright, and/or consider a small donation via PayPal (donation button in footer). If you are willing to see the source code of these application, you can download it from here: App3DDMSimple.as, App3DDMFade.as, App3DDMAnaglyph.as, App3DDMSimplePV.as, App3DDMFadePV.as, App3DDMSimpleAW.as, App3DDMSimpleTriangles.as, additional classes, .pbk and .pbj files can be downloaded from classes.yoz.sk. Any feedback welcome 🙂

FAQ:

How to make this app run with local files/images?

You can run ***DisplacerLocal.html from downloaded files or export applications with local-with-filesystem sandbox. This may be done with compiler argument:

-use-network=false

    I use FadeDisplacerPV in my web site, and I want the Displacement Maps flash be the bottom layer.
    But the “swfobject.js” always makes the Displacement Maps flash layer become the top layer and cover another layers.
    I write the css code “z-index:-10000;position:absolute”, but it doesn’t work.

    Then I read this http://geekswithblogs.net/steveclements/archive/2007/03/03/107839.aspx
    It says that setting the “wmode” option can solve the layer level problem.
    but I set to FadeDisplacerPV, the flash disappear.

    I try using iframe, but the FadeDisplacerPV still cover all the other layers.

    could u hlp me? thx

    @su, you have to setup wmode for “opaque” or “transparent”, and define z-index for wrapping html element or z-index for element that you need to be on top. iframe will not work for you in this case

    @Jozef Chúťka
    It final works! I found that is another code make the effect don’t show. but now I have another problem…

    Can FadeDisplacerPV’s swf and xml be embed in a flash?
    I want to put some flash animate before the FadeDisplacerPV effect
    I try those code in as3 below

    var LODSWF:Loader=new Loader();
    SHOW_mc.addChild(LODSWF);
    var SWF:URLRequest=new URLRequest();
    SWF.url=”flash/App3DDMFadePVLocal.swf”;
    LODSWF.load(SWF);

    var xml:XML;
    var urlloader:URLLoader = new URLLoader();
    var urlRequest:URLRequest = new URLRequest(“config/FadeDisplacerPV.xml”);
    urlloader.load(urlRequest);
    urlloader.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE,onXMLLoaderComplete);
    function onXMLLoaderComplete(e:Event):void{
    xml = new XML(e.target.data);
    trace(xml);
    }

    But they doesn’t work……

    @su , Local.swf versions works only when ran from your disk. When debugging or going live you can not use that. You should also change the constructor class of App3DDMFadePV, the original one expects stage available when creating and that may be the issue… anyway I believe you should choose a different attempt and include that all into one .swf, then, if it works for you, try making parts loadable…
